Halloween

This year for Halloween, we were invited to Sophia's house. Their neighborhood has a huge Halloween block party, costume contest, and "parade." Noah dressed up as a monkey. He has been getting more and more attached to his Curious George stuffed animal, so we thought the monkey was an appropriate costume.

The boys running out the door on their way to the costume party. Micah was a lion, Noah's the monkey, Isaiah is an elephant, and Gabriel is a race car driver.
A crowd shot at the costume judging.
Sophia was a nun, and her dog was a Catholic school girl.

Welcome Baby Abigail

Today Noah got to meet our friends Miriam and Jeremy's new baby girl, Abigail. Abby is 5 weeks old now. Yesterday was her Simchat Bat ceremony, and today they had a brunch at their house so that people who haven't met Abbie yet could see her.

What a cutey!

Here she is with her grandmother (Jeremy's mother), mom and dad.

Sharing Shelob with Friends

This morning three of Noah's friends from daycare and their families came over to meet Shelob. The kids were very interested in her-- for a few minutes-- then the fact that she's a boring pet that rarely ever even moves set in, and they were quickly off to play with Noah's toys.

Shelob comes to Visit

My parents brought their three pets down to Virginia this weekend, in anticipation of their move in 3 weeks. My friend Allison kindly took in their cats, Dumbledore and Jubilee, as Ole and Audrey didn't want to share their home with other cats. But, we are hosting Shelob the tarantula. Noah is very interested in the "big spider." I've never been squeamish about insects or spiders, and I don't want Noah to be either, though he knows he's not allowed to touch. Just to be safe, we're keeping her out of reach. Though, the top to her aquarium is taped down and her venom is not strong at all. Supposedly, her bite would feel like a bee sting, but I don't want to chance it. Actually, she's a rather boring pet. She often sits entirely still for hours on end, eats once every 6 months or so, and doesn't come out of her cage.

Micah's Birthday Party

Noah went to his friend Micah's birthday party yesterday. Most of my pictures aren't worth posting, but this video is hilarious. The first half is nothing special, but just wait for Micah to get his dancing shoes on!

Pumpking Picking Again

These photos come courtesy of Mara (Mia's mommy).

Noah and I went to the farm again on Monday, which was Columbus Day, with Mara, Mia and C.J.. It was probably our last trip of the season :-( It was absolutely freezing when we first got there, but it warmed up some (ok, it was still cold as can be, but not terrible by the time we left). As always, fun was had by all, despite the cold.

Here they go into the pumpkin field.

And they saw some massive pumpkins

But fortunately, they settled on something more manageable.
This is Noah's way of "hugging."
He'll lean in and allow you to hug him. Mia wasn't buying that half a$$ed hug stuff.

Dinner with the Gang

Here are some pictures from our monthly dinner with Noah's friends and their families.

And, little C.J. is the most smiley baby I've ever seen!

The Fire Station Open House

This morning, we met some of Noah's friends from daycare at our local volunteer fire department because they were having a fire station open house. Noah loved climbing on and in all of the firetrucks and the ambulance. As we were leaving he was saying from the back seat "I go back."

All Noah's Grandparents

Noah had a wonderful weekend spending time with all his grandparents at once. Grandma Jean (Darren's mother) and her best friend, Eva, have been with us for the last week and a half. They go back to England on Thursday. Grandmoo and Papa (my parents) are here for a short visit because they just sold their house in Connecticut and spent the weekend house hunting. They've found a house they love about an hour from here in a 55+ community that they've been eyeing for years now. We're now just waiting until they finish the negotiations with the seller, so fingers crossed. We are so excited that Noah will have at least one set of grandparents close by as he grows up.

The Caterpillar

Today, Noah found a tiny, green caterpillar climbing into our garage. He was totally fascinated by the way it moved.
