11 Month Birthday and Memorial Day Weekend with Grandmoo and Grandpa

Noah turned 11 months old on May 23. As a birthday treat, he got to see his Grandmoo and Grandpa, who came to visit for Memorial Day weekend. We didn't do much... though Noah definitely doesn't nap as much when there are such exciting people here to visit him.

The Watchers

"Hmmm... What could be so interesting out there?"
"All I can see is the tree."
"Still looking... and still only seeing a tree."
"But at least I'm one of the gang."

All I Can Say is Poor Ole

Farm Visit

On Saturday, Noah and I met some other moms and babies and went to Oxon Hill Farm. Believe it or not, this lovely oasis is just minutes from the construction site that is the Wilson Bridge. You would never know it though. There were lots of animals-- horses, cows, pigs, chickens, sheep, a big turkey, and a friendly kitty. Noah was more interested in playing in the dirt and eating grass than he was in looking at the animals.
This little girl, Lizzy, is totally scoping out Noah. He plays it cool and pretends to ignore her while sucking his thumb.
Seriously, I think his other girlfriends would be jealous.
Here's he's playing hard to get, pretending to be more interested in mouthing the toy.
But she means business!

Spider Baby

Noah is getting really into climbing things, so now we call him spider baby.
Spider baby, spider baby. does whatever a spider baby does (a la Homer Simpson).

Champions

Manchester United-- the football team Darren supports-- won the league today, so we decided to dress Noah up in his football kit (a gift from his grandma Jean) to celebrate. It's still way too big for him. check out how the shorts come down to his ankles and the crotch is about at his knees. It was also my first mother's day today... it was a yucky rainy day and we didn't do much, but it's always nice to be with Noah and Darren.

Babies' One Year Celebration

On Sunday, we celebrated the (almost) one year birthdays of all the babies who were with us when Noah and I went to moms' group last summer. Their actual birthdays range from mid-May to mid-July. Noah even got to visit with his first girlfried, Sophie, who came down from New Jersey (they moved last year) for the event.

A Day on the Swings with Sean

Noah and I went for a walk on Saturday with our friends Karen and Sean. Here are the two boys swinging in the baby swings.
