We've had a very low key Memorial Day weekend. Saturday was spent running around doing errands. On Sunday, we went with Grandmoo and Papa to the outlets and then back home for a BBQ. And today, we spent the morning at Mia's house with Noah's and our friends. It was a lovely, relaxed weekend.

Sophie and the Strawberries
We took our first trip of 2010 up to Great Country Farms today to pick strawberries. Gretta, David and Sophie joined us. Apparently, the strawberries have come in way early this year, so there might not actually be strawberries at the strawberry festival over Memorial Day weekend (when we plan to go back to the farm with Mia, Greydon, Sienna and their families). So, we wanted to make sure we got in at least one good strawberry picking day this year. Noah and Sophie had a wonderful time at the farm. Of course, Noah just sat in the field and ate the strawberries, rather than actually picking them to have later... that's ok.
Playing with Owen
We got to spend Saturday at our friends Dawn and Dave's house up in Annapolis. They're the ones who have a small beach on the bay that is part of their neighborhood. We usually go up once a year with everyone from Darren's office, but this year we just had a small get together with Dawn and Dave and Sandrine, Geoff and their son Owen. Owen is nearly 6, so a bit older than Noah, but he's a really nice boy and was more than happy to play with Noah. Noah was so excited to play with an older boy who would actually pay attention to him. He also loved playing with Maudy and Brutus, Dawn and Dave's two dogs.
Dawn and Dave have recently put their house on the market and are planning to move to Australia soon. We will miss them, and miss visiting them in Annapolis. It was a wonderful relaxing day.

Farewell Micah
On Friday, we said goodbye to Noah's friend Micah, who is moving to Hawaii (lucky him). Noah has known Micah since he was about 8 months old, soon after we started Noah at Kindercare. Micah was a tiny little thing back then (he was about 3 months old at the time), and he had been a preemie, so he was very small.
When Sangeeta and Danette opened up Tendersteps and we moved Noah over there, Micah came too (as did all of the other kids). We really enjoyed getting to know Micah's parents, Josh and Ann. And, Noah has a special place in his heart for Josh, who is always picking him up and tossing him about. We will all miss them. But, we're happy that they've gotten a chance to move back to Hawaii where Ann's family lives.

The Visitors in our Garden
We have a family of rabbits living in our back garden. While they're very cute, I'm not exactly thrilled with their choice of homes because they are making a meal of the vegetables I've planted. I disturbed their nest yesterday, hoping they would get the hint, but they were back tonight. In fact, Noah got to see the mother rabbit nursing the babies. She took off before I could take the picture below, but here are 4 of the 5 babies.
